Sustainable St Albans Litter Pick

Please come along for an hour or so and help make Park Street a pleasant place. Please wear gloves although, we can provide all the equipment needed, it obviously helps if people who have their own kit bring it along on the day.  We also arrange with the District Council to get the bagged litter removed after each event.  We will normally meet at one of two venues either outside the How Wood shops AL2 2RA or in the car…

Butterfly Walk and Talk at Greenwood Park

Butterfly Conservation have now been awarded funding to create a new home for butterflies in Greenwood Park.  A new area of chalk meadow will be planted to encourage the Small Blue, Small Copper, Brown Argus and Common Blue.  Small Blue is rare in Hertfordshire, with the strongest remaining colony found in Chiswell Green.  Creating extra habitat will give the butterfly a better chance of survival. Friends of Hanstead Wood volunteer mornings  at Hanstead Wood, Hanstead Park, Bricket Wood. 2nd Saturday each month 10.00-12.00 9 Feb/9 Mar/13 Apr/11 May/8 Jun/13 Jul Volunteers meet at 10 am to work in the Wood.  No experience needed, tools are provided so all you need is a pair of gardening gloves, sturdy footwear and suitable protective clothing according to the weather.
