The Parish Council is inviting expressions of interest from businesses to provide refreshments to users of the popular Greenwood Park.
Greenwood Park is a Green Flag Award winning park containing a large play area, allotments, sports pitches, meadow, ancient woodland, section of the National Cycle Network, tennis courts and community centre. The Greenwood Park Community Centre is constantly in use by community groups, sports and social clubs. The Park has a large play area, backs onto a primary school and is a popular route to a large secondary school. There is a vibrant tennis club on site and the 5 football pitches and cricket pitch are regularly used during the weekends. There is a large allotment site adjacent to the Community Centre with over 40 plots and the Park is popular throughout the day with dog walkers.
The Parish Council is interested in facilitating the provision of refreshments in the Park on weekdays and weekends throughout out the year. The café could be in the form of van, temporary building, or catering unit from which it could provide hot and cold drinks (not unlicensed alcoholic drinks), cakes, snacks, breakfasts and light lunches. Ideally the operator will come from within the local community and understand and meet the needs of the community and be sensitive to and compliment the Community Centre and sport facility users.
The agreement will be for an initial three-year period from May 2020. Operators are being considered through the submission of a business plan by 31 January 2020. Site visits can be arranged by appointment, see the specification document below. To express an interest or if you have any queries please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
